Our 2014 | Happy New Year!

What a great year 2014 was!! Cheers to the year of brunette hair, lots of travel, 1st Anniversary, Scott’s first BBQ competition, weddings, babies and good times with friends! Going through all of my photos throughout the year left me feeling blessed, giddy, and fortunate for our life and the people (and dogs) that surround us. I’m leaving 2014 with a smile on my face, and welcoming 2015 with open arms! I’m really excited to see where this year will take us in our marriage, in our family, in our jobs and around the world. Colorado and Costa Rica are already on the horizon ;)

Things I’m loving Friday

I got this idea from my favorite blogger Julie at Peanut Butter Fingers. She does a weekly recap of things she’s loving, and I thought it’d be fun to list some things I’m loving as well! Let’s get started, shall we!

First and foremost, my baby nephew was born just minutes ago… Literally minutes ago!! Looks like we’ll be taking a visit down to San Antonio to see a squishy baby today! That’s definitely taking the top spot for things I’m loving!!!

  • Melvin and his vest

I got Melvin this vest over the weekend and at the time I didn’t realize it was almost identical to the one I was wearing. I know, I’m a nut.

My friend introduced me to this app and I just have to share. I was crying with laughter from the videos we created. The app will distort your voice and face and it will be HILARIOUS! It would be perfect for family bonding material when your visiting with them over the Thanksgiving holiday.

  • Early Thanksgiving celebration with my moms side

The best murder investigation show that’s not on TV. If you haven’t done so already, go ahead and jump on the #serialpodcast bandwagon. I’ve been listening since the beginning and this podcast is like nothing else I’ve listened to. New episodes come out on Thursdays, and my husband and I anticipate our morning commute. It actually makes you want to drive to work.

  • Burt’s Bees

Not only am I loving all of Burt’s Bees products around this time of year, but I’m loving the man himself! We watched his documentary over the weekend, and the man is a hoot. I loved seeing the man behind the product that I really love. He is such a quirky guy too and had me and Scott cracking up.

  •  Christmas crafting

I will definitely be braking tradition this year and putting out Christmas things/setting up our Christmas tree early, as in this weekend early. I just can’t help myself! I’ve been doing some Christmas crafts, and I’m so excited to start decorating. Plus it will make things a little easier on me considering Thanksgiving falls a little late this year.

17 facts about me

What a perfect topic to end Blogtober on… I wasn’t consistent through the whole month, but I will have posted 17 posts this month once it’s all over with! That’s more than I normally would have, so I’m happy about it. Also, I loved going to the link up and reading everyone’s posts, especially this one!

this picture is about 5 years old

So today’s prompt… Facts about me. When I think about myself, I always think there’s nothing really *special* to share, just general, boring stuff. Maybe it’s not super boring to others, and I guess I’m just used to my life. But here goes nothin…

1. I’m from Austin, and a 6th generation Texan.

2. My parents got divorced when I was 5 and are now both remarried.

3. I have a brother. He’s 3 years older than me.

4. We were pretty poor growing up.

5. I’m 26 and married to Scott, who will be 34 in December(!!)

6. We have two dogs, Mac and Melvin.

7. We have 0 debt, other than a house payment.

8. My favorite food is Mexican!

9. I’ve never had the chicken pox.

10. I was a cheerleader for about 9 years. But I never really saw myself as a cheerleader type of person.

11. I’m very loyal… but not very patient. My husband could attest to that.

12.I have a terrible memory and sometimes am scared that I will be develop Alzheimer’s disease when I get older, as my grandpa suffered from the disease.

13. I love watching live music and my favorite band is Ween.

14. My husband is my rock. He’s everything I’m not. He just gets me and I’m so undeserving.

15. I have to force myself to the gym, but leave feeling very accomplished.

16. I love watching NFL football.

17. This isn’t my first blog… I created “Loving This Unique Life”(hahahah) about two years ago on a whim and shut it down about a year ago to created Brooke Hamilton Blog. My most popular post is this one, thanks to pinterest.

And I think that’s a good stopping place… I just had too much fun with this prompt! Maybe you found out something new about me? or Maybe we have something in common? Thanks for stopping by!
