Our bathroom remodel is coming to an end (update #2 coming soon), which means I’m slowly getting my weekends back! The weather this weekend was nothing short of gorgeous and I took full advantage of the sunshine!
We kicked off our Friday night with the final stages of tile work in our bathroom, grout. Grout is actually harder than I thought it would be. But what part of this project hasn’t been harder than I thought it would be? At least the hardest part is behind us! We finished working around 9, ordered pizza and watched Gone Girl. It was the perfect way to end the week…and that movie is CrAzY!!!
My friend Kyndal was in town this weekend, and we planned to take a Pilates class at Pure Pilates Austin. It was both of our first times and so we really don’t know what to expect. We were really excited to try out the Megaformer. It looks a little intimidating, but it gave us a great workout and left us shaky and sweaty! I personally loved the class and can’t wait to go back. Plus, Kyndal got to use her ClassPass flex!
Call me crazy, but right after Pilates I drove over to meet up with some girl friends for a day of hiking. We drove out to Georgetown and ended up hiking a total of 8 miles!!! And in true womanly fashion, we went to Georgetown Winery afterwards, mud and all and enjoyed 4 samples of Texas wine. I was beyond exhausted by the time Saturday night rolled around and fell asleep at 9pm. The vitamin D was so worth it though!
Scott and I did a little bit of chores, and a quick trip to Home Depot on Sunday morning. I’m happy to say that we finally have two toilets in our house again!!! Once again, a bathroom remodel update is on it’s way, but here is a sneak peek for time being.
I was able to sneak away for a late lunch with Kyndal and her mama at this tasty restaurant called Freda’s Seafood Grille. I had a Cesar salad with shrimp scampi on the side. So good! I can’t wait to take Scott there!
Before we knew it, it was time to meet up with a group of friends for a quadruple date night to “Austin Panic Room.” We met up for drinks and eats that The Liberty (East Side Kings, FTW!), then headed over to the panic room.
“Come experience the finest escape room entertainment where your puzzle solving skills will be tested to the max and teamwork is forged by a common goal: to escape the room!“-from their website
Basically, you are given a story line and a mission then locked in a room with all sorts of hints, clues, locks, hidden objects. You have to work as a team to solve the riddles or lock combinations. Oh and you’re only given an hour! The hour goes by surprisingly fast! Honestly, once we were in there I didn’t think we’d be able to get through the whole thing within the allotted time. Surprising we were able to accomplish the mission, and escape the room with 13 minutes to spare!
Have a good rest of the week! At least it’s not Monday, right?!
