Well it’s been awhile since “day 6,” but I’d figure I’d go ahead and recap what we did, especially since it was Valentine’s Day.
It was actually a very uneventful day. Since it was our last day, Scott decided not to go skiing one last time, and just stay with me and take it easy. And take it easy we did!
We took our time waking up and eating breakfast. We watched a movie that we rented from the office and played a few more games of yahtzee. I gave Scott his Valentine’s gift before going to lunch. We don’t make a big deal about Valentine’s Day gifts, but rather experiences. We love trying new foodie restaurants in Austin, so we try to go to one of those kinds of places. Since we were skiing this year, that counted as our “experience.” I did give Scott a little something though.
And a really sweet card…
Scott loved the card! He also loved the gift inside the box.
Scott hung the BBQ hanger the next day when we got home. I actually said it was from me and the dogs because someone
Melvin likes to steal his BBQ utensils and destroy them. I figured it would be a good idea to keep them out of his reach!
After lunch, we lounged around, packed up, and I read a bit while Scott answered some emails. The dogs kept me company.
We made reservations at a restaurant called the view. It looked really fancy in the pictures, and there had been some remodeling. But I’d say the overall experience was ok. We were seated such that we could see the view of the bar TV, which had the olympics on. We could not stop watching the women’s skeleton race. So romantic, let me tell you!
We did share a bottle of wine. I had steak, and Scott had shrimp and grits, which he really liked! My steak was very tender and good as well.
Soon after that we were hitting the road to come back home. I was so so grateful for our home sweet home when we eventually arrived into town. (12 hour drive). It was a fantastic trip. Bye little log cabin. Hope to see you again!
